Major Kilkenny employer unveils plans for massive expansion at city campus
Kilkenny-based global banking and financial services giant State Street has lodged plans with the local authority to significantly expand its campus in the city.
State Street International (Ireland) Ltd has applied to Kilkenny Council Council for premission to build a new four-storey office building on the site of its campus at the IDA Business and Technology Park just off the Ring Road.
In its application, State Street said: “The development will consist of the construction of a four-storey office building plus rooftop plantroom, total floor area of approximately 6100m2.”
The plans also seek permission for a single storey services building with a floor area of approximately 229m2, new entrances from existing IDA Business Park road network, 406 new car parking places, bicycle parking facilities, circulation routes and pathways, site lighting, landscaping, surface water drainage and attenuation, connections to existing services, and all associated works.
State Street currently employs more than 2,500 people in Ireland across four sites in Kilkenny, Dublin, Drogheda and Naas.
It has an employee headcount of more than 40,000 across the globe.
A decision on State Street’s application is expected by next February.
