Making an entrance: Kilkenny meat factory gets green light for makeover
The owners of the Dawn Meats plant in county Kilkenny have been given the go-ahead to revamp the entrance to the factory.
According to the planning application lodged with the local authority, the development at the Grannagh site will “consist of the relocation of the existing main entrance to the south west elevation”.
The new entrance will have a new wheelchair access ramp, access steps, planters, and a new entrance porch.
The works will also see “the relocation of existing turnstiles, new security fencing, first floor corner window, alterations to south west and south east elevations consisting of new roof parapet to
extend above the existing eaves level and new render finish”.
The factory owners also sought retention permission for an existing two-storey office extension on the site at Grannagh Business Park.
Kilkenny County Council this week confirmed it approved the development.
