Kilkenny man (28) charged with robbing teenager at knifepoint in city

A 28-year-old man from Kilkenny has been remanded in custody in connection with a robbery in which a local teenager was threatened with a knife and had his iPhone and money stolen.

The incident occurred on John Street at around 2.15am on Thursday.

The man was arrested yesterday evening and brought to Kilkenny Garda Station for questioning. He was later charged with robbery and appeared in court early this afternoon.

He was remanded in custody at Cloverhill Prison in Dublin and is due to reappear in court again next week.
