Man (30s) dies following crash close to Kilkenny border
A man in his 30s died this morning following a crash on the main Waterford to Limerick road.
The single car collision happened at 3am this morning at Killaloan on the outskirts of Clonmel.
The victim was the driver of the car. Two passengers in the car, a man and woman in their 20s, were injured and taken to hospital where their condition is described as not life threatening.
The N24 Waterford- Limerick road is closed just east of Clonmel for the foreseeable futures while crime scene investigators examine the scene. Traffic diversions are in place which are affecting Kilkenny-Limerick traffic.
Superintendent at Clonmel Garda Station William Leahy said, “From our initial enquiries it’s understood the car, a 05WH registered silver Volkswagen Polo, left the road and struck a wall while travelling from Clonmel in the direction of Carrick-on-Suir.
“We are appealing for witnesses and in particular anyone who travelling on this stretch of road between 2.45am and 3.15am this morning to contact us at Clonmel Garda Station.”
