Kilkenny man (30s) back in court following discovery of explosives in city

A Kilkenny man in his 30s is to re-appear in court today in relation to the discovery of explosives in the city over the weekend.

Liam Foley (35) with an address at Paddy Kelly Apartments, The Good Shepherd Centre, Kilkenny city, has been charged with possession of explosives at his address on August 14.

Mr Foley was arrested in the car park of St Luke’s Hospital last Friday night at 9.58pm and was charged with two counts of possession of explosives.

He was remanded to custody in Cloverhill Prison in Dublin at a hearing in Kilkenny District Court yesterday.

He is due to reappear before Kilkenny District Court again today via video link.
