Man and woman killed in road crash just over week before Christmas
A man and woman were killed in a road crash in the early hours of this morning, with just over a week to go before Christmas.
The fatal collision occured when the car they were travelling in hit a lamppost on Butterfield Avenue in Templeogue, south Dublin, at 1.30am.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but it was too late to save the man and woman. Their remains were removed to Tallaght University Hospital.
The incident has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) for examination.
The Garda Forensic Collision Investigation Unit conducted an examination of the scene.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for anyone who travelled the road at the time of the collision, and who may have dash cam footage, to contact Gardaí in Tallaght on 01 – 6666000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
