Man punched in the head as he was walking home in Kilkenny city
A man was viciously assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Kilkenny city.
The incident occurred on the Castle Road between 1am and 2am on Saturday.
A local Garda source told: “The man was walking home with a friend when he was attacked receiving two punches to the face resulting in swelling. His companion was unharmed.”
The victim did not require hospital treatment for his injuries.
Gardai in Kilkenny are investigating the attack. They have asked anyone with information or dash cam footage of the incident is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
