MARBLE CITY NIGHTS: Bank Holiday special – Sinéad Connolly’s guide to going out in Kilkenny

ANOTHER Bank Holiday is upon us, and so too is a certain Cat Laughs festival so the Marble City will be hopping again this weekend.

If you’re a comedy fan but slightly unorganised, don’t worry: there’s still a few tickets left for some of the shows, but get booking asap to avoid disappointment.

And after you’ve laughed yourself silly, get yourself along to some of the many musical delights Kilkenny’s hottest pubs have to offer.

You can dance the night away at Paris Texas, which will have a DJ belting out the tunes from 9:30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They also have a Mór Gin Tasting event with Gearóid Farrelly at 6-8pm, which should be a giggle (visit Mór Facebook page for tickets).

The Left Bank has live music with Blessed on Friday, two DJs on Saturday night, The Rockies on Sunday (ticketed event) and Davey Cashin, Pete Fagan and Band on Monday.

So between the laughin’, the drinkin’ and the dancin’ – there’s something to suit every taste in Kilkenny over the long weekend.
