Marty gets party started in Ballyhale ahead of All-Ireland club final showdown

THE Marty Party rolled into South Kilkenny in recent days as the popular RTÉ presenter arrived in Ballyhale for filming ahead of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship this weekend.

Marty was a big hit with staff an customers at Billy’s Tearooms & Shop, which has had a busy time of it over the past week.

Billy’s Tearooms said: “Another busy few days for us all in Billy’s. On Friday we were joined by Marty Morrissey who was down in the village filming for the Club Final next week. On the same evening we were invited to share our story at a forum for International Women’s Day in Kilkenny.”


This week KCLR journalist Edwina Grace visited the Ballyhale non-profit cooperative to speak to guests at a coffee morning.

Customers were later entertained by the pupils of the Scoil Aireagail Trad Group (pictured above) as St Patrick’s Day approaches.

Meanwhile, with the weekend that’s in it, Billy’s Tearooms is having a raffle to win two sets of tickets to see Ballyhale’s hurling heroes in action in Croke Park this weekend.

To enter, all you have to do is visit Billy’s Tearooms, purchase anything in the shop or tearoom, and you will automatically be entered into the draw.

The winner will be announced on Saturday.
