Missing Kilkenny based trucker found safe and well
By COLIN BARTLEY
THE KILKENNY based trucker who went missing in the South of France has been found safe and well.
Victor Brennan Transport, based in Knocktopher, made the appeal yesterday morning after a driver had not made contact with them since Friday.
Rene Champaud, originally from South Africa, made contact last night and is reported safe and well.
Rene was driving a 161 KK White Renault T-Series. His last known location was on the outskirts of Narbonne, just north of the Pyrenees on the Mediterranean coast.
Both the French authorities and local garda worked on the case and assisted in finding Rene.
Letitia Higgs says:
I am the sister of Rene Champaud. If he is found then how can we not know where he is as he has not made contact with his family at all to date. Nobody can give answers as to his whereabouts, so presumable found but still missing according to the family.
