More giant 100ft telecoms towers planned for county Kilkenny
Kilkenny County Council has received yet another planning application to build a new 30-metre telecommunications structure in the county.
Cignal Infrastructure Ltd wants to construct the 100ft plus multi-user lattice telecommunications support structure, carrying antenna and dishes, at a site on Coillte lands at Knockadrina, between Knocktopher and Stoneyford.
The new tower will replace the existing 25 metre structure already erected on the site.
Cignal Infrastructure are also seeking permission to expand the compound, which will be enclosed by a 2.4 metre high palisade fence, along with “associated ground equipment cabinets and associated site works”.
The company recently lodged applications for another two communications towers of similar height at sites near Windgap and close to Hugginstown.
A decision on the application is due early in 2021.
