Kilkenny broadcaster Evanne fronts new documentary about subject very close to her heart

RTÉ presenter and Kilkenny woman Evanne Ní Chuilinn is better known for her flawless delivery on all things sport. But now she is set is to front a very differnt sort of documentary on a subject very close to her heart.

Evanne has created a new documentary as gaeilge for TG4 looking into the history of adoption in Ireland.

The popular Kilkenny journalist was herself adopted as an infant 38 years ago. The documentary called ‘Uchtú’ explores the long and often distressing story of adoption in Ireland.

While making the documentary, Evanne met with law-makers, activists and people who have gone through the adoption process as children and parents.

Evanne, herself a gaeilgeoir, was unveiled yesterday as part of the launch of the TG4 Autumn schedule. ‘Uchtú’ will be broadcast on Wednesday, November 13.
