New housing development in centre of Kilkenny village to go ahead despite objections
An Bord Pleanála has upheld a decision by Kilkenny County Council to allow a development of family houses in the centre of Piltown.
The national planning authority has granted permission to developer Paul Henebery to proceed with plans to build the development of homes at a site a on the Main Street.
The Bord had received an objection to the decision by the local authority to grant permission back in June of this year.
After analysing the plans for the four-house development, An Bord Pleanála granted permission with some added conditions, including one relating to traffic access.
An Bord Pleanála said in its ruling: “The proposed development would not seriously injure the amenities of the area or of property in the vicinity and would be acceptable in terms of traffic and pedestrian safety and convenience.”
