No further deaths for third day as Government to meet over travel restrictions

There were no further deaths from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland for the third day in a row, the HSE said this evening.

The total death toll here is now 1,746 while the number of confirmed cases has now reached 25,670 after another 32 were diagnosed.

Meanwhile, the Government will discuss the current travel restrictions tomorrow, the Taoiseach has said.

Micheál Martin added that they would listen to the advice from the National Public Health and Emergency Team (NPHET) before finalising the ‘green list’ of countries for July 20.

It is expected that a ‘green list’ of countries where Irish people can travel to without restrictions will be published next week.

Meanwhile NPHET is meeting today to discuss the easing of Phase 4 of Covid-19 restrictions while acting Chief Medical Officer Ronan Glynn said it is too soon to say if remainder of pubs would open next week as planned.
