Nothing sheepish about Kilkenny Garda who came to rescue of this new-born lamb

THERE was nothing sheepish about this brave Kilkenny Garda who came to the rescue of a new-born lamb and its mother.

The drama unfolded this week when gardai and officials from the Department of Agriculture visited a farm in the Thomastown area after it received reports of suspected animal neglect.

But when they arrived at the farm, they came across a ewe that had just given birth to a lamb.

The terrified animals were trapped in a pit and unable to get out.

There was nothing woolly about Sergeant Griffin’s response.

The quick-thinking Garda climbed down into the pit and retrieved the animals.

Kilkenny gardai were delighted to report: “Both animals are now safe and well!”
