One more death and 11 new cases of virus, Government set to delay easing travel restrictions: report

One more person has died after contracting the coronavirus as 11 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

It brings the overall death toll as a result of the virus to 1,741 . There are now 25,509 confirmed cases of Covid 19 in the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The latest casualties were confirmed it was reported today that restrictions on international travel are likely to remain in place until July 20 at the earliest. This includes the requirement to quarantine for 14 days after arriving in Ireland from abroad.

The restrictions currently in place were due to be eased next Thursday, July 9. However, RTÉ News this evening reported the Government is set to keep the restictions in place for now amid growing fears about the resurgence of the virus in other countries.
