One new death as worldwide cases top 17 million
There was one new deaths from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland, the HSE said this evening.
The total death toll here is now 1,765 while the number of confirmed cases has now reached 26,877 after another 85 were diagnosed.
Meanwhile, more than 17 million cases of coronavirus infections have been recorded across the world, an AFP report claims.
The US is the worst-hit country with 4,426,982 cases including 150,713 deaths.
