One of Kilkenny largest schools has even bigger plans

One of the largest secondary schools in county Kilkenny has lodged plans with the local authority requesting permission to create more space for its students.

The Board of Management of Castlecomer Community School has sought permission from the local authority to build a new classroom within the existing structure of the school.

The plans for the new classroom include the construction of a new roof and glazed structure over existing external yard area within the school. The associated adjustments to existing building and all associated siteworks.

The mixed-gender school currently caters for around 550 students in the north Kilkenny town.

A decision on the application is expected by the start of November.
