One of Kilkenny’s biggest schools is about to get even bigger

A local secondary school has been given the green light to proceed with plans to buld a new classroom.
Kilkenny County Council granted permission to the Board of Management of Castlecomer Community School, one of the largest schools in the county, to build a new classroom.
The new classroom will be built on the footprints of an existing external yard area within the school building and will be enclosed with a new roof and glazed structure.
To create the new room adjustments will be made to the existing building as well as the required associated siteworks.
The mixed-gender school currently caters for around 550 students.
