Plans to erect 100ft telecoms tower in Kilkenny woodland
A telecommunications infrastructure provider is seeking planning permission to build a large 3o-metre tower in a forest in the heart of county Kilkenny
Cignal Infrastructure Limited this week submitted plans to the local authority to erect the structure on Coillte lands at Castlemorris, located between Hugginstown and Kilmaganny.
The location is just five kilometres from where another telecoms mast is planned near Windgap village.
The 100ft multi-use tower with delta headframe would carry telecommunications equipment and cabinets.
If approved, the tower, would be contained within a compound on Coillte land overlooking Hugginstown.
Kilkenny County Council is expected to make a decision on the application in the New Year.
