By COLIN BARTLEY

ONE of the largest developments seen in a county Kilkenny town in over a decade has gone to the planning stage.

An application has been received by Kilkenny County Council for a 28-home project close to Castlecomer town centre.

The development will consist of one-bed, two-bed, three-bed, and four-bed homes ranging from detached houses to apartments.

The application has been put in by Paddy Raggett Homes Ltd, to build at The Weir in Castlecomer, just off the Castlecomer Road.

The planning application requests permission to build eight fully detached two-storey four-bed houses, a duplex apartment block consisting of 10 three-bedroom apartments,  six two-bedroom apartments, and four one-bedroom apartments.

The application also requested permission for all ancillary works and services.
