‘Protect yourself and others’ – joint appeal from Kilkenny Council, gardai and health chiefs

Protect yourself and others from Covid-19 – that’s the simple message being reiterated jointly by Kilkenny County Council, local gardai and Health Service Executive leaders.

As the Cabinet meets today to discuss the recommendation to move the entire country to Level 5 restrictions, local authority, policing and health service chiefs urged members of the public to do everything they can to prevent the spread of the virus.

Their joint statement said: “As Level 3 and other additional restrictions apply, the three principal response agencies are urging people in county Kilkenny to remain vigilant, ensure that progress made in the latter half of this year isn’t eroded.”

They urged the public to “remember four simple things” to combat the virus. These are:
* Reduce contacts with other people;
*Wear a mask;
*Keep your distance;
*Wash your hands.

The HSE also reminded people that anyone can get a free consultation over the phone from a GP and be referred for a test if required.
