Garda probe as remains of newborn baby found on beach
A GARDA investigation is under way following the tragic discovery of the remains of a newborn baby on a beach.
The discovery was made shortly after 10am this morning at a beach in Balbriggan, Co Dublin.
The sex of the infant is not known at this point.
The scene is currently sealed off and a technical examination of the area is being conducted.
Gardaí are concerned about the wellbeing of the child’s mother and are asking for her to come forward.
They are also appealing for anyone with information to contact Balbriggan Garda Station on 01 802 0510.
