Residents in fear as motorists tore through Kilkenny village at speeds of up to 92kmh, disqualified driver arrested
Gardai were called to a county Kilkenny village after recieving several complaints from concerned residents that motorists were speeding through the streets.
The incident occurred in Johnstown over the weekend. When they arrived at the village, members of the Kilkenny Roads Policing Unit clocked a number of speeding vehicles, including one motorist who was detected doing a speed of 92kmh through Johnstown.
Another driver who was already disqualified was also detected and now faces a court appearance.
Gardai again urged motorists to drive safely and within the legal speed limits over the bank holiday weekend.
A local Garda spokesperson said: “As drivers, we must each take responsibility for keeping within the speed limits.”
