Sr. Imelda (Angela) Buckley (Presentation Sisters, Parnell Street, Kilkenny and late of Queen Street, Dublin). March 12th, 2022 at Gowran Abbey Nursing Home. Predeceased by her parents John and Mary. Deeply regretted by her beloved brother Tony, Presentation Sisters, relatives and friends.
Reposing at the Convent Chapel on Monday from 3p.m. concluding with Evening Prayer at 5.30p.m. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 12.30p.m. in St. Mary’s Cathedral followed by interment in St. Kieran’s Cemetery.

Professor James Stephen MULDOWNEY
Canada and formerly, Thomastown
We are sad to announce the sudden death of Professor James Muldowney. He died suddenly at home in his 83rd year on March 7th, 2022.
Cherishing his memory are his beloved wife of nearly 58 years, Fidelma, his children Siobhán (George MacMillan), Maeve (Mike Lee) and Eamonn. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Rory, Thomas, Marcus, Nica and Victoria. He also leaves his brothers Dick and Pat and sisters, Catherine and Anne as well as his O’Gorman brothers and sisters-in-law Ethna, Vincent, Dorothy and Ralph, all in Ireland.
He was a respected professor at the University of Alberta and will be remembered by his colleagues and former students in the Department of Mathematics.
Jim was born in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, educated at Coláiste Íosagán (Ballyvourney), National University of Ireland Galway and the University of Alberta. As a new immigrant to Canada in 1962 he made a significant contribution to many sports organizations in Edmonton, including the Rowing Club, Chasquis running and the Nordic ski club.
A private family burial will take place. There will be a celebration of Jim’s life at a later date.

Philip (Phil) Byrne, Castletobin, Callan, Co. Kilkenny and late of Corpus Christi Nursing Home Mitchelstown, Co. Cork.
Peacefully, on Saturday, 12th March 2022 aged 90 years, surrounded by his family in the excellent care of the staff at Cork University Hospital.
Predeceased by his wife Mary, his parents Philip and Mary, his brothers Sean, Tom, Peter, Michael and Nicholas and his sister Brigid.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his sons Brian, John and Denis, daughter Anne, grandson Brian, granddaughters Aoife, Niamh, Aine and Caoimhe, brother Bryan, daughters-in-law Jean and Angela, son-in-law Stephen, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephews, great-grandnieces, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Reposing in Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan on Monday, 14th March from 4pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Funeral will arrive to the The Church of the Assumption, Callan for Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am. Burial will take place afterwards in Drinagh Cemetery, Drinagh, Co. Cork at approx. 4pm. John (Jack) Keoghan, Liss, Tullaroan, Co. Kilkenny.
Peacefully, on Saturday 12th March 2022 at University Hospital Waterford.
Pre-deceased by his brothers Pierce and Paddy and his sister Mary.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Agnes, sons Frank and Liam, daughters Catherine, Oonagh and Eithne, brothers Rev. Michael (England) and Francie (Australia) and his sister Lily (Kirk), daughters-in-law Mary and Breda, sons-in-law Pat and Paul, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Reposing at his son Liam’s residence on Monday from 3pm (Liss, Eircode R95 XT67). Rosary and Removal Prayers at 7.00pm followed by removal to The Church of the Assumption, Tullaroan. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, 15th March at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Tullaroan Cemetery.

Rosemary MORRISSEY (née O’Carroll)

Rosemary passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, 10 March, 2022 in the loving care of her family; supported by her wonderful carers and health-care staff. Beloved wife of the late Martin and much loved mother of Martin who pre-deceased her in 2018. Rosemary is also pre-deceased by her brothers Simon and Michael. Rosemary will be sadly missed by her loving family, Michael, Brian, Rosemary and Barry, sister Marjorie, daughter-in-law Bernie, grandchildren David, Clodagh and Gareth, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.
Rosemary will be reposing at her home (R95 T8X9) from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, 14 March. Requiem Mass will take place at 11am on Tuesday, 15 March, in The Church of the Assumption, Thomastown, followed by interment in St Mary’s New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. Patrick (Paddy) POWER
Kilfinny, Adare, Limerick/Castlecomer, Kilkenny
Paddy died peacefully at St. Camillus’ Hospital Limerick surrounded by his loving family. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Ann, daughters Caroline, Lynn, Gillian and Ciara, sons Gary and Cathal, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and his adoring 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Catherine, Ena,and Mai. Sadly missed by his sister Sheila.
Reposing at O’Grady’s Funeral Home Ballingarry on Monday March 14th from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral arriving on Tuesday March 15th for 12 noon Requiem Mass in St. Kieran’s Church, Kilfinny followed by burial in St. Nicholas’ Cemetery, Adare.
