REST IN PEACE: Kilkenny Death Notices

Peacefully, on Saturday 26th March 2022 in the wonderful care of the staff at Strathmore Lodge Nursing Home, Callan, Co. Kilkenny.

Pre-deceased by his wife Philomena. Deeply regretted by his loving family, daughters Noirin, Cathriona, Miriam and Monica, sons Tom, Pat, Dom and Ken, brother Michael (Kilsheelan), his 23 grandchildren, his 5 great grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law Chrissie Cantwell, Sr. Agnes O’Shea and Mary Prendergast, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan on Monday, 28th March from 3pm. Rosary and Vigil Prayers will be recited at 7pm, followed by removal to The Church of the Assumption, Callan. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am with burial afterwards in Kilbride Cemetery, Callan.

Rev. Father Harry RYAN
England and formerly, Maddoxtown

Peacefully on 2nd March, 2022 in his 91st year. Predeceased by his sister Maura Kehoe and his brothers Liam, Tom, Paddy, Maurice and Fiacre. Harry will be sadly missed by all his family, by his sister Kathleen Kenealy and Family (New Street), sister-in-law Mary and the Ryan Family (Maddoxtown), sister-in-law Margot and the Ryan Family (Clara), sister-in-law Patty and the Ryan Family (Tullamore), Ryan Family (Dunbell), Ryan Family (Enniscorthy), Kehoe Family (Blanchfields Park), cousin Dolly Lennon and Family (Nore Cottage) and his dear friend Susan Lundrigan (Darlington) who cared for Harry so attentively in his final years.

“May your heart be speechless at the sight of the truth of all your belief had hoped.

Your heart breathless in the light and lightness, where each and every thing is at last its true self, within that serene belonging that dwells beside us on the other side of what we see.” (O’Donohue)

Mass for the Interment of Harry’s ashes will be celebrated on Saturday 2nd April 2022 at 12 noon in St. Colman’s Church, Clara, County Kilkenny with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick T. (Paddy) WARD
Kilkenny City/Dundalk, Louth

Patrick T. (Paddy) Ward. (Kilkenny and late of Dundalk, Co. Louth) March 26th 2022 (peacefully) at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and grandson Toby. Loving father of Margaret, Ita, Aideen and Rosemary. Brother of Tom, Ann and the late Des and Peter. Much loved grandad of Christian, Stephanie, Jenny, Conn, Abby, Paddy and Ted. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, brother, sister, sons-in-law Patrick, Mark and Liam, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home on Monday (March 28th) from 3p.m. concluding with Rosary at 6.30p.m. Funeral on Tuesday after 11.30a.m. Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church to Foulkstown Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Acute Stroke Unit, St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. House strictly private on Tuesday morning. Paddy’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on:

In light of the current Covid situation, Paddy’s family request that anyone attending the house and the church observes the wearing of a face covering and social distancing.
