Rising Kilkenny soccer star to shine on European Championships stage

SEANIE Maguire is not the only Kilkenny man representing the Boys in Green this summer.

Kilkenny’s Ciaran Brennan has been called up to the Republic of Ireland under 19 squad for the European Championships in Armenia next week.

The 18-year-old played his soccer locally with East End United before signing his first professional contract with Sheffield Wednesday last summer.

The Owls striker made his Ireland debut for the under 16’s in the Victory Shield of 2016.

Ireland, who qualified for the tournament with six wins out of six, start their championship against Norway on Monday.
