Running the show: four Kilkenny athletes make Irish team for European cross-country championship
Four Kilkenny athletes have been selected to represent Ireland in the upcoming European cross-country championships.
Eoin Everard, Aoibhe Richardson, Peter Lynch and Shay McEvoy are all members of Kilkenny City Harriers and will be jetting off to Lisbon, Portugal next week to compete in the European cross-country championships on Sunday, December 8.
Eoin Everard secured his place on the senior men’s team with an eighth place finish at the national championships last weekend. Shay McEvoy came fifth in the junior national championships to book his seat on the plane with the under 20s team.
Peter Lynch and Aoibhe Richardson earned their call ups following some excellent results on the collegiate circuit in the USA.
Aoibhe Richardson will line up with the senior ladies team after some very strong results for the University of San Francisco recently.
Peter Lynch, who races with the University of Tulsa, will take his place in the Irish team for the men’s Under 23s race.
