Slippery oil thieves break into Kilkenny home and steal heating fuel

A house in county Kilkenny was left without heating after thieves tapped into the oil tank and stole the home heating fuel.

The theft occurred at a house in Kilfera, just outside Kilkenny city on the Bennetsbridge road, sometime between 9am last Thursday and 5pm on Saturday.

Gardai estimate around €600 worth of fuel was in the tank before the thieves struck.

It is believed the culprits would have required a vehcile such a trailer or van to remove the amount of fuel stolen.

Wiutnesses of anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
