Here comes the sun – temperatures to rise to 21C this week: Met Éireann
KILKENNY is in for a scorcher this week as mercury levels soar to up to 21C.
Yesterday gave a welcome glimpse of summer after weeks of changeable weather. And the good news is that the dry weather is set to continue today and tomorrow, with temperatures of between 16C to 21C forecast.
Met Éireann said it will continue to be dry and sunny in Kilkenny and throughout Leinster today.
Tomorrow will also be dry, “with good sunny spells”.
The national forecaster said Thursday will continue to be “largely dry with sunny spells”.
But it added: “There will be a bit more cloud than previous days with a possibility of one or two isolated showers later in the day”.
However, Met Éireann warned showers are expected to return on Friday, which it said would “develop in the East and South” before spreading westwards across the country.
Current indications suggest Saturday and Sunday will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Some heavier showers are expected on Sunday, with highs of 17C.
But in the meantime, enjoy the good weather like it lasts. Or as local weather guru Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather put it yesterday: “A great few days ahead with high pressure and warm air over Ireland, it will slowly slip away towards end of the week but just a few showers. Enjoy your week!”
