Suspect in murder of Kilkenny woman (71) to appear before court this afternoon

A 28-year-old arrested in relation to the murder of a 71-year-old woman in Kilkenny last week is to appear in court this afternoon on charges of murder.

Trevor Rowe, with an address at 4 Abbey Street, will appear before Cloverhill District Court this afternoon. He has been held in Cloverhill Prison in Dublin since last Thursday in relation to the incident.

Anne Butler (71) was found dead at a house on Maudlin Street in Kilkenny city at about 6pm last Wednesday, March 26 after gardaí received a call regarding an incident.

Mr Rowe was to appear before the courts this Friday, but his case has now been brought forward.
