Tail with a happy ending: Partially blind and deaf dog reunited with Kilkenny family after appeal

A dog with seeing and hearing problems that went missing from its Kilkenny home has been reunited with its family following an online appeal.

Lara the terrier went missing last week in the Callan Road area of Kilkenny city.

Kilkenny gardai helped the missing pooch’s family to launch a public appeal. And big-hearted members of the community were only too happy to help: little Lara was tracked down and reunited with her owners overnight.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Lara is reunited, what a reaction, you lot are seriously effective thank you from us, Lara and her family….”

The dog’s owners also expressed their gratitude and thanks to those who helped locate their beloved pet.

“Lara was found by the guards & dropped into the local vets,” they said.

“Thanks so much to everyone who shared this post & helped us get her back. We are extremely grateful. Thank you.”
