Thief caught trying to ride two bikes through streets of Kilkenny at same time

A bike thief was caught red handed by an off-duty  garda who saw him trying to cycle two bicycles “simultaneously” on a Kilkenny city street.

The children’s bike (pictured below) was recovered after the off-duty officer stopped the thief on Walkin Street and alerted his colleagues, who arrived on the scene a short time later.

A local Garda spokeserpson said: “This kid’s bike was recovered today when an off duty Garda spotted it being cycled simultaneously with another bike on Walkin Street Kilkenny. The Duty Sergeant came to the scene and seized the bike until it’s ownership can be established.”
