Thieves break into car parked in driveway of Kilkenny home as owners sleep

CASH and jewellery were stolen from a car parked in a driveway of a county Kilkenny house.

The thieves struck while the owners were asleep inside the house at Maudlin Court in Thomastown.

The incident happened between 9pm on Thursday and 8.45am yesterday morning. The owner went to get into her car, a black Hyundai Accent, yesterday morning but noticed her purse was opened and all the cash removed.

A gold bracelet that was in the car’s central console was also stolen.

Gardai in Thomastown are asking anyone with information, or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time, to contact them on 056 775 4150.
