Thieves escape with cash after smashing down door of house in rural Kilkenny
Burglars smashed down the back door of a house in county Kilkenny before making off with a stash of cash.
The burglary occurred in the Barna area near Freshford between 7am and 2pm on Thursday last.
A Garda source told KilkennyNow a door at the rear of the house was ‘smashed in order to gain entry’ and some cash and coins were stolen.
Gardai have asked anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact Freshford or Castlecomer Garda stations.
