Tipp-top win has punters purring for Cats again
KILKENNY’S last-gasp victory over Tipperary on Sunday has put them back in the betting to win the hurling league.
Limerick remain 13/8 favourites to top Division One but their defeat by Cork has encouraged punters to put their money on Brian Cody’s team. They have jumped from 14/1 to 7/1.
Eoin Murphy’s stunning injury-time free edged the Cats in front at the critical time and they emerged victorious by a solitary point at Semple Stadium. Galway breezed to victory over Offaly in Tullamore and are now 9/2 from 5/1 to overtake Limerick.
The odds are from BoyleSports whose spokesperson Lawrence Lyons commented: “A few punters in the South East snapped up the 14/1 about Kilkenny when they drifted in the league market and that could prove to be a savvy move after a real shake-up at the weekend saw them tumble back into 7/1. They’re also seeing a noticeable increase in All-Ireland support so we’ve trimmed them into 6/1 from 15/2.”
