Heartless motorist steals children’s eggs from Kilkenny roadside

Thieves stole a cooler box full of eggs that were being sold by children on the side of a Kilkenny road.

The theft occurred at Drummond, St Mullins at 3pm yesterday.

The children, who were out in the heat all day trying to make money selling their free-range eggs, had left a cooler box full of punnets on the roadside.

A silver jeep travelling from Drummond village in the direction of Glynn then pulled up beside them, when the driver got out, picked up the cooler box and jumped back into the car, to the astonishment of the kids.

Anyone with information or who may have seen the silver jeep in the area at the time is asked to contact Graiguenamanangh Garda Station on 056  775 4157.
