Traffic delays expected on way to the big match

By COLIN BARTLEY

WITH 60 -65,000 people expected to go through the gates of Croke Park tomorrow evening for the All-Ireland semi-final between Kilkenny and Limerick, gardai are asking people to give themselves enough time to get to the match.

With roadworks ongoing on the M7 / M9 long delays are expected as the Kilkenny and Limerick traffic merges just south of Naas.

Motorists traveling to Croke Park on the M9 should be aware the carriageway is reduced to a single lane as you approach and merge with the M7.

Roadworks are ongoing between junctions 8 (Johnstown) and 11 (M7/ M9 merger) and delays are expected.

The Garda Traffic Corps says there are numerous changes in the layout of the road, including a new exit at junction 10.

There are two-speed limits on the roadworks, 60kph and 80kph, to watch out for the signs.
