UPDATE: Woman caught robbing drink from hotel bar in Kilkenny is charged with burglary
A WOMAN who was arrested after she was caught stealing alcohol from the bar of a hotel in Kilkenny city-centre has been charged with burglary.
The 37-year-old woman, who is from county Tipperary, was arrested on Saturday morning after she attempted to steal a number of bottles of spirits from behind the bar of the hotel in the James’ Street area of the city.
Gardai were called to the scene and the woman was arrested and taken to Kilkenny Garda Station for questioning.
A local Garda spokesperson confirmed the woman has been charged with burglary and is due to appear before Kilkenny District Court.
