WEATHER ALERT: Rainfall warning issued for Kilkenny
Wrap up well if you’re ventruing outdoors – Kilkenny has been included in a new rainfall warning that will remain in place until 6pm tomorrow.
The latest weather warning issued by Met Éireann also covers neighbouring Carlow, Waterford, Wexford, Tipperary as well as counties Wicklow, Cork, Kerry and Limerick and comes into effect from 11pm tonight.
It comes after three separate weather warnings were issued, with hazardous conditions including localised flooding, sleet and snow being forecast.
A status yellow wind warning remained in place for counties Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo until 3pm today.
A new yellow wind warning has been issued from 10pm tonight for the whole of Munster, Connacht and county Donegal. The warning remains in place until 12 noon tomorrow, with “very strong and gusty south to southeast winds” forecast.
Met Éireann said: “Tonight and on Wednesday, heavy falls of rain, falling as sleet or snow in places for a time, with localised flooding and poor driving conditions.”
