WEATHER FORECAST: Kilkenny braced for very wet week – but glint of sunshine on the horizon

You’d be better off staying indoors for most of the week ahead after Met Éireann forecast very wet and unsettled conditions over the coming days.

The miserable weather we endured over the weekend is set to continue for most this week, but things are set to brighten up by next weekend.

This morning will be damp as Met Éireann said “scattered showers will continue over the south of the country” with highest afternoon temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.

It will also be wet and breezy tomorrow, with frequent showers merging to longer spells of rain and highest temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees.

It will continue to be wet and breezy on Wednesday, with frequent showers or longer spells of rain but Met Éireann said the “best of any dry spells will be in Leinster”.

Thursday will also be wet with widespread showers and a risk of hail, with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.

The national forecaster said rain or showers will persist on Friday, but added the weather will become “drier and brighter on Saturday”.
