WEATHER UPDATE: Sun and showers before a rainy end to the week

SPELLS of sunshine will be mixed with heavy showers, with possible thunderstorms over the next few days.
Temperatures will reach the low to mid-20s, but it will remain cloudy, before getting wet before the weekend.
Met Éireann said today will start cloudy with periods of sunshine, but there could be some thunderstorms later in the day. Temperatures will not get over 20 degrees.
Tomorrow will see more sunny spells, but with some heavy showers in the mix. It will be clammy also, as temperatures could get up to 22 degrees.
A low pressure coming in from the west means the rest of the week will be rather dull and wet, Thursday will be showery and windy, temperatures will hover around 20 degrees.
Friday will be wet, the rain becoming constant overnight. The winds will drop slightly, as will the temperatures, going down to about 18 degrees.
