WEEKEND FORECAST: Sun to set on beautiful Spring weather, Met Éireann warns

After a few days of stunning Spring weather, temperatures are set to rise even further today. But unfortunately it won’t be as sunny due to heavy clouds, and Met Éireann has warned of rain in Kilkenny and across the country.
The national forecaster said today will be “another warm day with some brighter interludes and hazy sunshine but more cloud around than recent days”.
Met Éireann added: “Some showery rain will develop in places, particularly in western or northern areas later in the day. Top temperatures will range 15 to 19 degrees in light southerly or variable breezes.
“Mostly cloudy and close on Friday night with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Some patches of mist and fog also.”
However, the weather is set to take a turn over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend with heavy showers across the country.
Temperatures will remain between 12 and 17 degrees, but there will be “showery rain” throughout tomorrow evening.
Easter Sunday will be drier than Saturday, but there will be some rain showers throughout the day and the temperatures will also drop slightly.
The weather also looks set to change drastically next week. Although the rain will clear on Monday, it will be much cooler, with top temperatures of just 10 degrees.
Met Éireann even predicts there will be frost on Monday evening.
Early predictions suggest that while next Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry, temperatures will drop during the night resulting in mist, fog and ground frost.
