WEEKEND WEATHER: A glint of good news on the horizon for Kilkenny
Whisper it … the horrible wet weather we’ve endured over the past week may be coming to an end – just in time for the weekend!
Met Éireann has predicted dry and bright conditions for Kilkenny and the South East over the coming days.
Temperatures dropped to as low as -1C last night, but the north bore the brunt of the coldest conditions.
The national forecaster said of today: “Other than a little light rain or passing showers during the morning in the southwest … Friday will be a dry day for most.
“While staying cloudy in the far south and near some Leinster coasts; most places will have good sunny spells. Light northeast breezes. Highest temperatures 4 to 8 degrees.”
Tomorrow should also be a mainly dry day, but low pressure could bring some rain.
Met Eireann added: “There is a risk of outbreaks of rain on south and south-western coastal counties. These are associated with the passage of a low pressure to the south of the country in the early hours of Saturday morning.
“This low pressure should have cleared by mid-afternoon leaving dry conditions countrywide. Temperatures generally ranging 4C to 8C but feeling cool in light north to north-easterly breezes.”
The national forecaster said the dry weather should continue on Sunday, with some “decent sunny spells”.
