WEEKEND WEATHER: Kilkenny facing four seasons as sunshine makes way for cooler temperatures
It’s another mix bag of weather for Kilkenny this weekend after the heat of yesterday – a bit of sunshine, rain, thunder, heat then a drop in temperatures before the weekend’s out!
Today will start mostly dry at first with sunny spells, according to Met Éireann.
Outbreaks of showery rain will develop in the southwest in the early afternoon, extending gradually northeastwards across the country later in the afternoon and evening.
It will be quite warm and humid with maximum temperatures of 20 to 24 Celsius, but turning cooler and fresher in most of with highest values of 15 to 19 Celsius.
Tonight will be showery with some heavy and possibly thundery bursts possible.
Lowest overnight temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees with light variable breezes.
Tomorrow will see frequent showers with some turning heavy.
Winds mostly moderate and westerly in direction but increasing fresh to strong at times along southern coasts. Top temperatures between 14 and 17 degrees.
Further showers overnight the showers most frequent in the north and west of the country.
Sunday will see further showers although less frequent than Saturday with the best of the dry and bright weather in the south and east of the country.
Top temperatures 15 to 18 degrees with a moderate to fresh and gusty southwest to west winds strong along west and northwest coasts.
Mostly dry overnight with a moderate to fresh southwest wind but winds will continue strong and gusty along the west and northwest coasts.
