WEEKEND WEATHER: Sunny spells, showers and thunder forecast for Kilkenny
It’s going to be a bit of a mixed bag weatherwise in Kilkenny this weekend as Met Éireann forecast a mixture of sunny spells and showers over the coming days.
Tomorrow will begin cloudy with scattered showers and sunny spells through the day, some turning heavy or thundery in the south and west by evening. Met Éireann said: “Rather warm and humid, in a light to moderate southerly breeze. Highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees, with the best values across the northern half of the country.”
It added there will be more “good sunny spells” tomorrow, but scattered showers will develop during the afternoon. By evening more frequent showery outbreaks of rain will move in from the southwest, with highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees.
Sunday will also bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy or thundery in the afternoon with a risk of spot flooding and highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees.
Monday will start mostly bright and dry. More scattered showers will develop during the afternoon, but these will die away later in the evening, with the mercury rising to as high as 21 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly breezes.
Met Éireann said it is likely to remain unsettled from early next week. The national forecaster added: “Tuesday will be cloudier with isolated patches of rain or drizzle while a further band or rain or drizzle will cross the country on Wednesday. Mild with highs remaining in the high teens or low 20s.”
