Who killed Marie? RTE’s Prime Time investigates Kilkenny murder mystery
RTE’s Prime Time programme will tonight broadcast a special report on the 33-year-old mystery surrounding the murder of Kilkenny mother-of-two Marie Tierney.
Tragic Marie’s body found in a ditch on Bleach Road on the outskirts of Kilkenny city on December 21, 1884. Noone has ever been charged with her murder.
Tonight’s Prime Time feature will show award-winning crime journalist Barry Cummins following gardaí as they go door-to-door re-investigating the case.
He interviews Jim Dwyer, the man who found Marie’s body, and Brian Murphy, who was the first Garda on the scene.
The journalist also speaks to the victim’s brother and sister on the day her remains were recently exhumed at the graveyard in Conahy as gardai continued their search for vital clues that could finally unravel the mystery about who killed Marie.
Prime Time will air at 9.35pm on RTE 1 tonight.
