Words on wheels – Kilkenny’s mobile library is coming to a school near you
KILKENNY County Council’s mobile library is on the move – visiting several schools in the south of the county earlier today.
The mobile library rolled into Knocktopher Vocational School at 9.30am this morning, before driving down the road to Ballyhale National School at 10.45am.
Then it was back to Knocktopher for lunchtime before visiting Hugginstown and the local pre-school at 2.30pm.
Meanwhile, Kilkenny County Library Service is continuing its programme of events as part of the National Library Initiative ‘Healthy Ireland at your Library’.
Over the coming weeks it will host events on mindfulness at work, talks on living with dementia, Relax Kids workshops and specially-themed story times for children.
Louise Shanagher, a psychology lecturer and mindfulness teacher, will host a workshop on Mindfulness at Work the public libraries in Castlecomer and Graiguenamanagh.
Caroline Clifford, a local Dementia Champion and a nursing specialist, will give talks on living with dementia and what supports are available to help those with the condition and their families at Loughboy, Ferrybank and Callan libraries.
Gillian Cody from Relax Kids will host workshops at Urlingford, Ferrybank and Kilkenny City libraries to teach youngsters how to remain positive and calm.
