Workplace Relations Comission to intervene in St Patrick’s Centre dispute
THE Workplace Relations Commissioner has been asked to intervene to help resolve ongoing issues at St Patrick’s Centre in Kilkenny.
The news was confirmed by unions representing staff at St Patrick’s, which found itself engulfed in a dispute since the current board announced plans to step down later this year.
St Patrick’s provides specialist services for adults and children with intellectual disabilities.
Staff at the centre have said they have not been kept informed about their future as the centre moves its reisdents to community settings.
Employees at St Patrick’s said they have been told that jobs will be available to them in other areas of the Health Services Executive (HSE). However, they have not been given any further clarity about their positions or employment status.
