WEATHER WARNING: Hold onto your hats – 100km/h winds to batter Kilkenny tonight
Just as spring appeared to be getting into its step, another weather warning has been issued for Kilkenny and the South East.
Met Éireann has issued a Yellow Wind Warning for the region with winds of up to 100kph expected overnight.
The national broadcaster said: “Southerly winds tonight will reach mean speeds of 50 to 60km/h with gusts of 80 to 100km/h, highest in coastal areas.”
The national weather forecaster has also said there is a risk of flooding at high tide in coastal areas and in tidal rivers.
The warning comes into effect at 11pm and will remain in place until 5am tomorrow .
